Meet the Maestro Behind the Munchies

Born and raised in South Africa, Chris Yates founded Snack Shack to share the bold, nostalgic flavours he grew up loving. What started as a craving for the tastes of home quickly turned into a mission: to bring authentic South African snacks to Aussie shores – and onto as many platters as possible.

A qualified chef with a Certificate II in Commercial Cookery and currently completing his Certificate IV at TAFE SA, Chris blends creativity, precision, and a serious love for good food. From perfectly crisp pizzas and sushi rolls to loaded sandwiches, biltong, and fully customisable party platters – everything Chris makes is packed with flavour and crafted with pride.
